After a few hours and a few dollars spent, we decided to go home...Corey had "suggested" that we go home and rest for a bit then go get Dairy Queen later and walk down by the bridge on the boardwalk. As you know, when ice cream is involved so am I! While we rested at home, I bounced a bit on the ball. I am telling you what, I was determined that I was going to encourage her to come as much as I could.
The time finally came and went...Corey and I got blizzards (for me, Butterfinger of course!) and we...I mean I, waddled down the boardwalk trying to imagine how greatly our lives were going to change. We returned home...and I continued to have contractions approximately every 10-minutes throughout the rest of the evening.
Just like the night before, I barely slept. Every time I had a contraction I woke up and I was having them almost consecutively every 10-minutes. With that being said, Friday mainly became a lazy day...I was once again going to encourage our baby girl as much as I could. Time slowly ticked by until we had some visitors arrive; Dale and my Dad. We chatted, relaxed, and cracked jokes about my Jekyll and Hyde behavior...every time I would have a contraction I would just kind of stop everything I was doing and took long, deep breaths...all while saying in my head "there might be pain in the night but joy comes in the morning!". I never felt like any of the pain was "severe" enough and the contractions were still pretty inconsistent and definitely not meeting the 5-1-1 rule quite yet. So we shrugged it off every time and continued with our visit. That was until about 3:30...
All of a sudden (literally...like...lightening...) I began having a couple closer, stronger contractions...I bounced on the ball and Corey kept checking to see if I was okay...I kept assuring them all I was okay and that it had to continue like this for about an hour so we could go in....after a couple more times, my Dad and Corey looked at each other and made the executive decision that it was time.
Dad and Dale got ready to go home, as we grabbed any "last minute" things (our bags were already in the car...for like a month!). We finally hopped in the car and it was "go time". I can't even describe the amount of excitement and exhilaration that was rushing through both of us, as we quickly drove the familiar drive to the hospital...
